Comparative Analysis of Gut Microbiomes in Captive Tigers across Ex Situ Facilities in Peninsular Malaysia

Fecal DNA metagenomic is increasingly used to determine the gut microbiome of elusive wildlife species. In Malaysia, there is still no information about the composition of gut microbiome between captive populations of Malayan tiger in Malaysia. Hence, this study aim to provides important information and could be one of the tools for understanding the relationship of tiger-microbiome in captivity to further develop strategies to improve Malayan Tiger conservation management especially in captivity and might use for rewilding the animals in the future.
