Large eddy simulations of dry convective boundary layers with PALM

This dataset contains data from large-eddy simulations (LES) of a dry convective boundary layer. The simulations were performed using the PALM model in an idealized setup without topography, with a domain size of 8 × 8 km² and a resolution of 10 m in all directions. The simulations were configured with varying surface heat fluxes and geostrophic wind speeds covering a range of atmospheric conditions relevant to boundary layer turbulence.The 3D fields are coarse-grained by a factor 200 horizontally and a factor 10 vertically, averaging state variables over the full cell volume and wind velocities over the cell edges.
