SDG 7.3.1 - Energy intensity measured in terms of primary energy and GDP (megajoules per constant 2021 purchasing-power-parity United States dollar)

This dataset reports Qatar's energy intensity, calculated as total energy supplied to the economy divided by gross domestic product (GDP). The unit is megajoules per constant 2021 purchasing-power-parity United States dollar of GDP. A lower value means that less energy is used to produce one unit of economic output, so a downward trend generally indicates progress in energy efficiency. Energy intensity is an imperfect proxy for efficiency because it can also be influenced by climate, economic structure and the nature of economic activities.
