Data set: blank values from heubach dustmeter-conditioning with sugar beets and barley with a refined procedure

With the Heubach method free floating dust of treated seeds can be measured. The Heubach value is used as an indicator for seed quality. One way to make the heubach results more reliable can be the definition of the limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantification (LOQ). Blank measurements were conducted in several heubach labs for this data collection to allow a calculation of LOD and LOQ for the Heubach method. For the conditioning of the testing device seeds from sugar beet and barley were used. After several test series conducted ahead the procedure for measuring blank values was refined and specified regarding the cleaning of the equipment and the correct weighing. Two Tests (Data_LOD_LOQ_barley_sugar_beet_refined_procedure.xlsx) were performed following the “Assessment of free floating dust and abrasion particles of treated seeds as a parameter of the quality of treated seeds” (Version 1.1; published by Euroseeds SCTP Dust working Group on 23.03.2011).
