资源简介:
The Northern Pacific appears to have undergone a “regime shift” within the past bimodal state that is not typical
of previously studied regimes. Regime shifts are often fundamental shifts in ecosystem structure and function, such as the 1976 regime shift
change from a shrimp dominated fisheries to one dominated by pollock, salmon and profound impact potential, this proposal seeks to provide
observations of the current Gulf of Alaska during 2005.
The current dataset represent the CTD data collected by Dr. Tom Weingartner of the Institute of Marine Science, University of Alaska Fairbanks
for the Gulf of Alaska LTOP (Long Term Observation Project). The area of coverage is the Gulf of Alaska. The name of the dataset
corresponds with the name of the cruise; TN179 cruise took place during May, 2005, TXF05 September, 2005, TN194 during May, 2006, TXF06 September, 2006,
TXS07 May, 2007, TXF07 September, 2007.
All data is packed into holders that corresponds to names of cruises and each folder contains three files:
1. Header information is stored in [name of the4 cruise]hdr.dat
2. CTD data is stored in [name of the cruise]s.dat.
3. [name of the cruise]s.readme that holds brief information on the data. These datasets were archived as part of the North Pacific Research Board legacy project recovery effort undertaken by Axiom Data Science and NPRB in 2025. The goal of the recovery effort was to assess the NPRB-funded data projects from 2002 to 2014 and archive final data packages that were ready for publication to increase long-term accessibility and discoverability. Data packages were archived as is given limited funding and resources.
