Adult (6-8 weeks of age) male and female Nod1/Nod2 double knockout (NodDKO) mice (C57BL/6 background) and WT (C57BL/6; originally fron Jackson Labs) mice were utilized in the study and bred in-house. Mice were housed in cages lined with chip bedding and had free access to food and water throughout the study. Animals underwent a one-day behavioral battery test in order to assess anxiety-like behavior and cognitive impairment. Fecal samples were collected for the microbiota analysis on the same day of the behavioral battery test.
