Doing translation history with catalog metadata: Insights into the Frankfurt Book Fair in the German National Library

This repository contains the datasets used in "Doing translation history with catalog metadata: Insights into the Frankfurt Book Fair in the German National Library", published in the volume Digital Translation History, edited by Diana Roig-Sanz and Philipp Hofeneder (John Benjamins, forthcoming). The bibliographic data was collected in October 2024 using Jupyter Noteboooks provided by the DNB Lab. The data set contains: Literary translations into German from 1990 to 2010 from the DNB bibliography (dnb-übersetzungen_1990-2010.csv). Translations from languages of the Frankfurt Book Fair Guests of Honor during that period (frankfurt-book-fair_1990-2010.csv), as well as a version of this data set enriched with data pulled from GND authority files (frankfurt-book-fair_1990-2010_enriched.tsv).
