Two samples were selected from features at 26CH1062 in the Stillwater
Marsh near Fallon in western Nevada. These samples were analyzed as a pilot
study to determine the applicability of further phytolith analysis at this
site. The two pits selected for analysis dated between 800 and 1100 BP, and
were filled with midden. Phytolith analysis was undertaken to identify
midden contents, and to attempt to shed light of season of deposition.
