资源简介:
Results from data collected in project Fondecyt 1221400 "Paving the way for autonomy: An interdisciplinary approach to the relationship between early interactions and adaptive behaviour in infants with Down Syndrome"The overall goal of the project is to analyze the relationship between Parent-Child Interaction (PCI) and the development of Adaptive Behaviors (AB) in babies with Down Syndrome (DS), aiming to develop a comprehensive theoretical model using a multilevel approach to support a complex social intervention program to strengthen those interactions and improve the quality of life of these families. The project was guided by the following research questions: are there patterns of PCI that boost or hinder the development of AB in babies with DS? Could a multi-level approach enhance our understanding of PCI in presence of a disability? Is a program of parental measurement to draw upon PCI to enhance the development of AB in this population effective? We proposed an experimental design based on an interdisciplinary approach with a longitudinal component (24 months) with two studies. The first study explored the relationship between PCI and AB comparing a group of dyads including children with DS and a group of dyads including children with TD (12 to 36 months old) from two methodological approaches combining direct (physiological markers) and indirect variables (behavior observation and third-person reports). The second study explored the effectiveness of a multilevel evidence-based program, adapted to sociocultural characteristics and supported by technology, aimed towards boosting parental competencies in the PCI components.
