Pavement in Patagonia, asphalt in Alaska : case studies in oil spill pavement formation, fate, and effects

This report compares the effects of the 1974 oil spill in the Strait of Magellan, which resulted in little cleanup efforts, and the 1989 Alaska Valdex oil spill, which received significant cleanup. The focus of the paper is on analyzing the effects on pavement formation on beaches by the spilled oil.
