Photograph of a notice to trespassers between the Mexican border and San Diego, 1895-1905. The sign is a light-colored wooden board with dark letters. It is nailed to a wooden fence post supporting a barbed wire fence. A chain with a padlock can be seen at right, while a large tree is in the background at center. The sign reads as follows: "Notis! Tresspassers will B percecuted to the full extent of 2 mungrel dogs which neve was over sochible to strangers & 1dubble brl shot gun which aint loded with sofa pillows. Dam if I aint gitten tired of this hell raisin on my place. B. Griscom".
