We have performed a comparison of gene expression profiles between in vitro and in vivo liver fibrosis organoid models to assess their resemblance to in vivo fibrotic liver tissue and to evaluate the therapeutic effects of Sargassum japonica (S. japonica) on liver fibrosis. Overall design: Liver organoids were generated from either healthy or carbon tetrachloride-induced fibrotic mouse liver tissue. Organoids were treated with Sargassum japonica, and total RNA was extracted for transcriptomic profiling to assess fibrosis-related gene expression changes.
