Obtained data during our experiments. These may suggest the followings: although both were hyperglycemic model mice, STZ administration and HFD feeding had diverse influences on the plasma SelP level and other diabetes-related factors. Furthermore, it is also suggested from these data that plasma SelP levels may not be increased in conditions such as type 1 diabetes, wherein there is a lack of the ability to secrete insulin. This is evident even in hyperglycemic conditions. We anticipate that these findings may help to elucidate the pathophysiology of type 1 and 2 diabetes.
