Sediment Budget and Geochemistry Data for the Little Fork River Basin, Minnesota, 2021-2022

The Little Fork River in northern Minnesota provides a disproportionate source of sediment to the Rainy-Lake of the Woods Basin and has been a focal point for monitoring and management over the past decade. To address excess sediment and associated phosphorus (P) in the Little Fork River, an improved understanding of the sediment sources and sediment-bound P is needed. Geochemical sediment fingerprinting and sediment budget techniques have been identified to address this issue. This data release provides data collected and produced to support that effort including: sediment sample geochemistry results, rapid geomorphic assessment data, and a stream network attributed with sediment budget estimates.
