This study uses novel molecular inversion probe (MIP) panels to sequence Plasmodium vivax samples from the Peruvian Amazon. Each sample is captured and sequenced with four separate MIP panels: 1) PvG - a tiled gene panel targeting putative antimalarial resistance genes and blood-stage vaccine targets; 2) PvFST - a panel targeting 400 geographically discriminating SNPs detected during a global Pv variant calling analysis, as well as SNPs from other published panels; 3) PvMAF5 - a panel targeting 400 neutral low-frequency SNPs (minor allele frequency = 0.05); and 4) PvMAF40 - a panel targeting 400 neutral high-frequency SNPs (minor allele frequency = 0.4).
