PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a storage battery including a high-density active material layer with a high filling amount with a small amount of a conductive additive and to provide a storage battery having a large capacity per electrode volume by using the same. SOLUTION: The battery manufacturing method includes: applying a slurry containing an active material and graphene oxide on a current collector; drying the slurry to form an active material layer on the current collector; winding up the active material layer on the current collector in a roll shape together with a spacer; and impregnating an electrode and the spacer wound in a roll shape in a reducing solution to reduce the graphene oxide.
