Synteny-based genome assembly for 16 species of Heliconius butterflies, and an assessment of structural variation across the genus

Reference-guided genome assemblies and gene annotations for 16 species of Heliconius butterflies. Each species (spp) initial genome assembly was scaffolded either by aligning scaffolds to the H. melpomene (hmelv25) or H. erato demophoon (heradem) reference genome, and this is indicated in the file names: [spp]-2-hmelv25 and [spp]-2-heradem. The same prefixes were used for the gene annotation files. We also include de novo mitogenome assemblies of these 16 species plus the outgroup (Eueides tales - etal). All species codes can be found in the associated manuscript: https://doi.org/10.1093/gbe/evab069.
