PMID: 37184129; PMCID: PMC10410014.<b>Method: </b>Briefly, we performed GWAS for 13 clinical biomarkers in a randomly selected 50% of the UK Biobank sample who were eligible and passed quality control (<i>n</i> = up to 204,402; excluded individuals with non-European ancestry, consent withdrawal, sex chromosome aneuploidy, extreme heterozygosity or missingness, and without genotype and phenotype data). A mixed linear model-based GWAS analysis (“fastGWA”) was used (Jiang et al., 2019). Age, sex, genotyping array, and the first 10 principal components were included as covariates. We also performed a GWAS for the frailty index (FI) and frailty phenotype (FP) scores in UK Biobank to obtain summary statistics for the SNP-frailty (outcome) associations.
