VPRS 16915 Minutes and Membership Books of the League of Former Trainees (LOFT)

This series includes two volumes containing the minutes of the Annual General Meetings of the Royal Children's Hospital's League of Former Trainees (LOFT). The first book starts with the 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 15th July 1925. The second book ends with the AGM for 1983. The meetings were usually held in either June or July. The books also contain annual balance sheets and annual reports. These are usually typewritten pages that have been pasted into the book. The final annual report is for the year ending 13th April 1984. There are also attached pieces of correspondence, notes, receipts and the 1981 Royal Children's Hospital Jubilee Booklet. In the second book there are also the minutes of a committee that met approximately three times a year which dealt with general business and correspondence.There are also three membership books containing the names and addresses of members. These books also contain yearly columns in which is recorded an amount of money, probably a membership fee, for each member. Each book is arranged alphabetically by member surname. Note that the book for the period 1953 to 1959 is only partially filled (surnames from A to D only). There is significant overlap between the books - with members appearing in more than one book for the same year. The reason for this is not known.LOFT is made up of nurses who were formally trained at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH).Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the RCH Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 2006/005.
