Bioturbation related sediment bacterial community

The study goal was to investigate if different bioturbator types impact sediment bacterial community composition at varying sediment depths. The study sediment was from a constructed wetland. The bioturbator types included mayfly nymphs and annelid worms. It is important to study bioturbation impacts on microbial communities in freshwater ecosystems as they are relatively less studied in comparison to their marine counterparts and these studies might help in restoration management decisions.
