Monthly power generation in China 1998-2024

China's total electricity output in July 2024 was about 863 terawatt-hours. Since 1998, the volume of monthly power generation had increased significantly. This increase was necessary to fuel China's economic rise and satisfy the demands of the higher standard of living. From the graph, it became also apparent that not only the monthly output increased but also the extent of seasonal fluctuations grew. Around the year 2008 and 2009, there was a small dip in power generation. This was the result of the world financial crises when global demand decreased and impacted the Chinese manufacturing sector.

2024年7月，我国总电力输出量约为863太瓦时。自1998年以来，月度电力生成量显著提升。这一增长对于推动我国经济腾飞以及满足日益增长的高标准生活需求至关重要。从图表中可见，不仅月度输出量有所增加，季节性波动的幅度亦呈扩大趋势。约在2008年至2009年间，电力生成量出现小幅下滑。这一现象系全球金融危机所致，当时全球需求下降，对中国制造业产生了影响。
