Genome sequence collection of Shiga toxin (Stx)-encoding phage in Stx-producing Escherichia coli

Shiga toxin (Stx) is the key virulence factor of Stx-producing Escherichia coli (STEC). The stx gene is encoded by lambdoid phages, and Stx-encoding phages (Stx phages) are integrated into the host chromosome. In this project, we collected the Stx phage genome sequences to analyze the diversification of Stx phages in STEC lineages. For this purpose, we deposited the host genome sequences determined by a hybrid assembly with the short- and long-read sequences.
