Clostridium bovifaecis strain:BXX Genome sequencing

Acetogenic bacteria are anaerobes that use the acetyl-coenzyme A (CoA) Wood-Ljungdahl pathway for the reduction of CO2 to acetyl- CoA, for the conservation of energy, and for the assimilation of CO2 into cell carbon. Here we report a new acetogen, strain BXX, obtained from cow manure. Based on the phylogenetic and phenotypic features of this strain, we proposed a novel species of the genus Clostridium.
