“How to Define ‘Smart City’ in the Hong Kong Context: A Topic Modelling Analysis of Policy and Media Discourse (2017–2025)”

This project explores how the term “Smart City” is actually understood and discussed in Hong Kong by analysing official government documents (Smart City Blueprint 1.0 & 2.0) and related news articles. Using LDA topic modelling in Orange Data Mining, we identify 6–8 key themes (e.g., Smart Mobility, Data Privacy, iAM Smart, Sustainability) to show what “Smart City” really means in practice for Hong Kong people.
