Differential expressioin gene between apical and basal sensory epithelia in premature mice cochlea

The spontaneous activity demonstrating in distinct frequency and pattern between apical and basal hair cells in premature cochlea is thought to precisely refine tonotopic map along the ascending auditory pathway. However, the molecular information responsible for initiating the position-dependent activity is still unclear. In this work, pyrosequencing platform was performed to analyze the transcriptome of apical and basal cochlear sensory epithelia.
