Inter-American Society of Clinical Cardiology Consensus on the Integrated Management of Acute Coronary Syndromes: Evidence-Based Strategies, Regional Adaptations, and Multidisciplinary Approaches for Equitable Cardiovascular Care in Latin America

Preamble The Inter-American Society of Clinical Cardiology (SIAC) aims to reduce the burden of acute coronary syndromes (ACS), including ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-ST- elevation ACS (NSTE-ACS), in Latin America, where cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death. This consensus adapts global evidence-based practices (e.g., ACC/AHA 2020 guidelines) to address regional challenges such as healthcare disparities, limited resources, and cultural diversity. It provides a framework for timely diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, emphasizing equitable access and patient-centered care.
