Utah Great Salt Lake Flooding

As part of the rapid growth being experince in central Utah, Utah
needs an accurate assement of the flood conditions expected from
the Great Salt Lake. Previous flood insurance studies prepared
by the FEMA and other flood plain studies have been outdated
by more current hydrologic data. The FPMS attempted to
incorporate the most current information concerning lake stages,
wind impact analyses, and physical constraints present in the
study area. Changes to these features could result in changes to
the data presented on the flooded area mapping. However, prudent
use of this information with any proposed future needs should
result in a consistent coordinated land use application
functional to the specific requirements of the community involved.
This dataset was created for the purpose of the FPMS report.
The data can be used to display and analysis at 1:24000 scale.
