Metallic kagome systems have emerged as a platform for exploring exotic electronic phenomena, including topological flat bands, Dirac crossings, and van Hove singularities, which drive charge density waves, magnetism, and superconductivity. This proposal aims to investigate the lattice dynamics of LaRu3Si2, a correlated flat band kagome superconductor, using high-resolution inelastic x-ray scattering (IXS) to elucidate the interplay between electron-phonon interaction, charge order, and superconductivity. We want to map the phonon dispersion and temperature dependence of the soft mode (frequency and linewidth) that we have predicted in the DFT calculations. Our project aims to establish LaRu3Si2 as a model platform for correlated kagome superconductors and demonstrate the superconductivity driven by flat electron-phonon interaction.
