Sugar-induced gene expression changes in a Caco-2/HepG2 coculture

We descirbe the impact of monosaccharides (glucose, fructose, L-arabinose versus mannitol) on gene expression, focussing on metabolic health pathways. This is part of a larger study on changes in cellular physiology in the metabolic health context. Caco-2 cells were differentiated for 2 week on a transwell filter and brought in contact with HepG2 cells in a coculture setup. 24-hour exposures were performed at the Caco-2 level before extracting RNA.
