Gefitinib in vivo mouse dataset

C57BL/6J male mice received a single dose or repeated dosing (6 or 10 days) of oral gefitinib at 8 or 250 mg/kg (low and high dose, respectively). Animals were euthanized two hours after receiving oral FD4 at 600 mg/kg (test permeability). Histopathology studies revealed minimal to slight apoptosis in the lamina propria and minimal blunting of the villi in the ileum 6 hours after a single dose of gefitinib at 250 mg/kg. These findings were no longer present after 24 hours post dosing. Caspase 3, Ki67 and Olfm4 staining in the jejunum remained unaltered after treatment with gefitinib, irrespective of the dose or timepoint assessed.
