The data from the four RC column frame shaking table tests presented here is based on previous experimental work by Prof. Shyh-Jiann Hwang of National Taiwan University. These tests were conducted by Reui-Shiang Su at the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE) in Taiwan in 2007. The released data was further organized by Han-Cheng Tai and Yu-Che Ling with authorization from Prof. Hwang. The objective of these RC column frame tests was to investigate the dynamic collapse of short, double-curvature RC columns (with aspect ratios of 1:3 and 1:4) subjected to uni-directional earthquake forces. A low-level 30gal white noise excitation was initially applied to the virgin frame and was subsequently used between test runs to identify the major structural characteristics of the SDOF test frame. Input table motions were derived from the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake record at the near-fault site TCU082ew and scaled to different intensity levels to induce collapse in the test frame.
