Leading pharma e-commerce platforms in Russia 2023, by revenue

The highest-earning online pharmacy in Russia in 2023 was Apteka.ru, whose gross sales volume amounted to 73.1 billion Russian rubles. Rigla ranked second with a revenue of 32 billion Russian rubles from sales via own online channels. The third-highest grossing company was Eapteka. Apteka.ru and Eapteka comparisonApteka.ru and Eapteka are major e-pharmacies in Russia. Apteka.ru received nearly 47 million customer orders in 2023, which was 2.6 times higher than the order count of Eapteka. However, the latter ranked higher by average order value, at over 1,600 Russian rubles. Apteka.ru customers spent 60 Russian rubles less on their purchases on average. Furthermore, Apteka.ru had more points of sale, at more than 31,000 as of 2022. To compare, Eapteka was present in about 10,000 locations. E-pharmacy traffic and apps in RussiaRussian consumers preferred mobile over desktop devices to access e-pharmacies. In 2022, almost 70 percent of online pharmacies’ traffic came from mobile devices. Thus, major e-commerce retailers in the segment offered apps to facilitate online orders. Apteka.ru was the most downloaded pharmacy app in Russia. Other popular apps in the pharmaceutical retail segment were Eapteka and Apteka Vita.
