The overall goal of this project was to generate barcodes for the trees and other taxa in all CTFS/ForestGEO plots. Research efforts over the past several years in plant DNA barcoding activities in CTFS/ForestGEO plots around the world have been extensive. These barcodes have been employed in generating both community phylogenies as well as in ecological forensic studies. This NCBI BioProject contains DNA barcode records that were generated with support from the federally-funded Smithsonian Institution DNA Barcode Network.
