Gender distribution in the U.S. tech sector as of 2022, by state

In 2022, South Carolina and South Dakota's tech sector workforce had the greatest gender balance, with 62 percent male and 38 percent female. Wyoming and Idaho had the least share of women among tech sector workers that year, with women representing around 28 percent in each state, respectively. Overall, female workforce made up around one third of the tech workforce in the United States.
