NRS-13562 | Master's annual reports on the state of guardians' committees and receivers' accounts

By an order of the Chief Justice and puisne judges of the Supreme Court in 1841, guardians of the estates and persons of infants (ie. wards of the court), committees of the persons and estates of lunatics, and receivers of rents and profits of estates under the administration of the court, were to present their accounts to the Master in Equity. The Master was required, on the 1st day of the 1st term in each year to certify to the Equity judge the state of these accounts, noting in particular, the names of committees and receivers who had failed to present their accounts, so that proceedings could be instituted to compel obedience. Annual reports show, for each estate administered, names of receivers appointed (or names of committee members), date of court order appointing same, date accounts lodged with the Master, amounts outstanding in each estate, record of payments made by committees or receivers into the court (date of payments, amount paid). 1849, 1863 (7/319.2). 1 bundle. Note: This description is extracted from Concise Guide to the State Archives of New South Wales, 3rd Edition 2000.
