The Efficacy of Evening Primrose Oil and Its Combination with Hyaluronic Acid for Cervical Priming in Hysteroscopy: A Randomized Controlled Trial

This randomized controlled trial compared evening primrose oil (EPO) alone versus EPO combined with hyaluronic acid (EPO+HA) for cervical priming before operative hysteroscopy in 102 women. Both interventions were effective and well tolerated. While overall dilatation and operative times were similar, the EPO+HA group achieved significantly faster cervical dilatation to Hegar size 9. Complications were minimal, with only one false tract reported in the EPO group. The findings suggest that adding HA to EPO may enhance cervical priming efficiency, warranting further study in larger trials.
