OsmiR408 knockout caused severe defects in mature embryo callus formation, whereas OsmiR408 overexpression promoted callus formation. In order to study the gene network regulated by miR408, transcriptome analysis was conducted using callus derived from mature embryos of wild type and OsMIR408 transgenic plants.
