This dataset presents the area statistics table of various forest categories and their sub-categories derived from the main results of the 9th National Forest Resources Inventory. It covers statistical data of 31 provinces and autonomous regions across China (excluding Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR), including protection forests (water conservation forests, soil and water conservation forests, windbreak and sand-fixation forests, farmland and pasture protection forests, bank protection forests, road protection forests), special purpose forests (national defense forests, experimental forests, seed stands, environmental protection forests, scenic forests, historic and memorial forests, nature reserve forests), timber forests (short rotation forests, fast-growing and high-yield forests, general timber forests), fuelwood forests, and economic forests (fruit forests, edible raw material forests, forest chemical raw material forests, medicinal forests).
