Volume of unloaded and loaded containers handled at the port of Esbjerg 2009-2019

The volume of unloaded as well as loaded containers handled at the port of Esbjerg fluctuated from 2009 to 2019. In 2019, the volume of unloaded containers was 139 thousand metric tons, while the volume of loaded containers was 71 thousand metric tons.The port of Esbjerg was built in 1868 and is today an international transport center with more than 200 companies situated in the port and with ten thousand employees. The port of Esbjerg is the largest port in Denmark as well as the leading RoRo port with large amounts of cargo passing through the port. In addition, it is a central port in Europe for shipping out wind power.
