Legumes utilize a shoot-mediated signaling system known as autoregulation of nodulation (AON) to maintain mutualism with nitrogen-fixing bacteria in root nodules. Shoot acting Lotus japonicus HAR1 receptor protein have an important role to restrict nodulation in roots. In order to identified key downstream genes of HAR1 which regulate nodule numbers from shoots, we performed RNA-seq analysis of leaves of wild type and har1-7 mutant inoculated with or without Mesorhizobium loti.
