<p>Interview with conceptual artist Jan Dibbets about his site-specific installation The Shortest Day at the Van Abbemuseum (1970) in the Van Abbemuseum and about related work. The art making process, installation process and history of the work are discussed in light of the idea of the artwork, the time when it was made, and the changes it underwent in order to gain more insight into the modes of presentation to inform future decision-making about possible conservation strategies and presentation options.</p>
