资源简介:
Helicobacter pylori is a major human pathogen, the causative agent of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastric cancer and atrophy of gastric mucosa. The conventional therapy for H. pylori infection includes the combination of antibiotics and a proton-pump inhibitor. Treatments of H. pylori infection show different eradication rates and adverse gastrointestinal side effects (nausea, diarrhea, etc.). Addition of probiotics as adjuvants for H. pylori antibiotic treatments can increase eradication rate and decrease side effects.Although many studies have proven the benefits of S. boulardii in the treatment of H. pylori infection, the mechanism by which those benefits are achieved are unknown, including its effect on the gut microbiota. Here, we report clinical characteristics and fecal microbiota changes using metagenomics in patients treated with conventional anti-H. pylori therapy compared with patients treated with conventional therapy supplemented with S. boulardii.
