Yeast community associated with sandfly Phlebotomus perniciosus

Here, we investigated the mycobiota associated with the sandfly Phlebotomus perniciosus, the main vector in the western Mediterranean area of the protozoa Leishmania infantum, by culture-dependent approach (microbiological analyses and the sequencing of the 26S rRNA), ITS rRNA amplicon-based next-generation sequencing and fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH).
