Whole genome sequencing in Enterobacteriaceae isolates from Bovine Animals and the Environment in Nigeria

The emergence of antibiotic resistance in food-producing animals is of major public health significance arising from the risk of these bacteria entering the food chain. Antibiotic resistance in humans is linked with antibiotic resistance in food producing animals and the wider environment. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and characterize antibiotic resistance determinants in antibiotic resistant bovine and environmental Enterobacteriaceae isolates from Edo state, Nigeria using whole genome sequencing.
