资源简介:
In two experiments, we assessed the ability of participants to localize tactile, auditory, and audio-tactile stimuli, while actively exploring an ultrasonic haptic display. The data was collected using the adaptive Psi+ method, a Bayesian algorithm aimed at optimising stimulus placement for estimating the threshold and slope of the psychometric function.  In the first experiment (separate blocks) the data collection part of the experiment comprised three blocks of 100 stimuli, one for each condition (tactile-alone, auditory-alone, and audio-tactile). The order of these blocks was randomized across participants.  In the second experiment (interleaved conditions), the experimental session comprised a total of 300 trials. The experiment was divided into 10 blocks, each comprising 30 trials (10 for each modality). Within each block, the order of presentation of the three conditions was interleaved and pseudo-randomized for each participant.   The dataset contains raw stimulus-response pairs for the two experiments (separate blocks and interleaved conditions). The different columns in the .csv files represent: y= number of positive responses n= number of stimuli presented at a given stimulus intensity (i.e. distance from the middle of the plate) s= subject code c= condition (1=tactile;2=auditory;3=audio-tactile) x=stimulus intensity (i.e. distance from the middle of the plate, in mm). Negative values indicate stimuli presented on the left of the middle of the plate; positive values indicate stimuli presented on the right of the middle of the plate.
