Analysis of conflict events in Nord Kivu, January–June 2025

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ (FAO) Data in Emergencies (DIEM) team has continued to provide updates about the implications of conflict events in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In this third StoryMap, DIEM has analysed the impact on crop production and the potential impact of conflict events on agriculture, natural resources and livelihoods in Nord Kivu province. This StoryMap provides an update covering the period 1 January to 30 June 2025. All conflict-related data cited in this StoryMap have been sourced from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED) non-profit organization. FAO has not independently verified the ACLED data utilized in the analysis below. In addition, when referring to specific locations of conflict events, ACLED utilizes granular location information. FAO has referred to these locations in parentheses throughout the StoryMap.
