The large increase in electrical load consumption demand is driving higher fossil fuelcombustion due to dependency over conventional generation sources. As a result, governments of differentcountries started the installation of microgrids (MGs) based on renewable energy sources (RESs). Due tothe intermittent nature of RESs, MGs are equipped with storage systems and are connected to the grid.Moreover, MGs are integrated with operating modes for handling intermittency and optimal operation.Therefore, the evaluation of these MG systems becomes important. In this paper, the self-consumption ratio(SCR), the self-sufficiency (SS), the grid interaction (GI), the CO2 emission, and operating cost are theparameters used for evaluating the performance of solar-based MG installed at the university campus withdifferent operating modes. The installed microgrid (MG) operated in grid-feed mode (GFM) during thereal-time scenario. In this regard, solar generation data and load consumption data of GFM mode have beenutilized for evaluating the other in-built modes of this installed solar-based MG system.
