VPRS 16145 Register of Rating and Taxing Appeals, Land Tax

In Victoria, dispute about compensation for, or, valuation of land acquired by an authority, and appeals following objections to valuations for rating and taxing purposes were heard by either the Land and Valuation Board of Review or the Supreme Court, depending on the amount of compensation claimed or the amount of the disputed valuation.This series was created to register rating and taxing appeals.Information recorded includes:- Appeal number and date,- Land valuation assessment number,- Name of appellant,- Description of land,- Assessed valuation,- Grounds of appeal,- Decision of the Board (appeals upheld or dismissed) and- Remarks (withdrawn, date fixed, notified, heard, determined).Separate registers of claims for compensation were created (refer to VPRS 16144).
