Characterization of Cryptococcus deutrogattii mutants with altered production of extracellular vesicles.

Cryptococcus deuterogattii is a human pathogen and relies on the secretion of virulence bags by the production of extracellular vesicles. The project describes the characterization of mutants with altered secretion of such vesicles. Using DNA Seq and RNA Seq analyses, we described that some mutants displayed integration of the marker near to a gene involved in the regulation of protein synthesis, and that such integration altered the expression of sugar transporters.
