Video Timestacks and Pixel-to-TWL Conversion Data, Hermitage Beach, La Réunion: 2020 Storm Events

This dataset provides cross-shore video timestack images and pixel-to-TWL (Total Water Level) conversion data collected at Hermitage fringing reef, La Réunion Island (southwestern Indian Ocean), as part of a study on storm-driven wave runup on reef-lined coasts (Machabée et al., in revision, JGR: Oceans). Timestacks were extracted from a Video Monitoring System (VMS) operating at Hermitage Beach between December 2019 and January 2021, and cover 27 of the 28 storm events analyzed in the associated manuscript (Table 1). Each timestack is produced by stacking a single cross-shore transect line from video frames sampled at 2 Hz; one image corresponds to approximately 10 minutes of continuous acquisition. Two pixel-to-distance calibration tables are included to account for a mid-study recalibration of the camera transect, along with a beach elevation profile (derived from a October 2019 drone survey, cross-checked with DGPS) needed to convert cross-shore distance into shoreline elevation (TWL, IGN89 datum).
